Our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training stands as the foundation that not only deepens your practice but also provides a platform to learn the basic aspects of practising and teaching Yoga.

For those of you who are ready to move beyond the 200hr, these elemental modules and our 300hr Yoga Teacher Training are here to elevate you beyond the basics. We follow a similar structure to the 200hr however the sequences are uniquely prepared for a more experienced environment and include more advanced Asana, Pranayama, Mantra and Mudras. As we draw you deeper into your practice and knowledge, we also fine tune your teaching and hands-on-assists to elevate you as a teacher.  And above all else, we offer you an opportunity to dive into an even deeper experience.

The Shanti Yoga ethos

Your primary teacher, Sasha is deeply passionate about staying true to the historical roots of Yoga but also moving with it’s evolution, as she teaches Yoga from a body sensitive, trauma informed and inclusive place. Driven by truth and authenticity, this is a practice that cultivates awareness, lead from the heart but also a practice that embraces our shadows and challenges that rise from within.

These Yoga Teacher Trainings are deeply rooted in ancient Philosophy as we use the physical body as a vehicle for our transformation. In this way, we have the opportunity to transcend beyond the physical layer into increased self-awareness through movement meditation, as we shift deeper into inner connection and spiritual connection.

Advanced Yoga

In this training, we open up the possibility of playing with deeper variations and some advanced Asana like inversions and arm balances. This opens up a wider spectrum of possibilities for you to play with and eventually offer. However, here at Shanti Yoga, we believe that being able to ‘perform’ certain advanced Asana or achieving a certain amount of Yoga Teacher Training hours does not guarantee an advanced practitioner. Advanced Yoga begins when you really start embodying this practice, as we move beyond striving for the tangible.

As practitioners and teachers, we read about Yoga principles like Ahimsa (non-violence and kindness) and Satya (truthfulness) but are we really embodying them in our daily lives?  On this journey of curiosity, we discover so much about ourselves on the mat but Yoga is much more than what happens on the mat, it’s a way of life. As we increase our awareness, we move in continuous reflection as we apply Yoga Philosophy into our every aspect of our lives.

The beauty of Yoga is that it just keeps taking you deeper and deeper into yourself and into your awareness. As we move along this pathway, our light is amplified and our shadows are uncovered. It’s a beautiful journey of self- discovery and instigates real change with ourselves, in our relationships and in how we move through our life.

This is an embodied Yoga Teacher Training but what does that mean?

Yoga is meditation in movement and a practice of increasing our awareness. It’s conscious and a felt sensed experience with ourselves on the mat as we everyday,  meet ourselves as we are with a deep sense of curiosity. As we draw deeper into our inner world, we move or simply just be, in any way that feels right for us in every moment. The more we listen within, the more the inner voice becomes louder and the more connected we become.

Led by the heart, these Yoga training are a deep delve into ourselves, into Yoga Sadhana (dedicated devotional practice) and into Yoga Philosophy. This isn't just something that we read, that sounds like a nice idea.... this Sadhana is fully felt, sensed, integrated and embodied, as we live Yoga in every moment.

Beginning this journey is a big commitment to not only the contact hours that we share together but also to your personal practice, your self study and your practice teaching.

Sasha cultivates Teacher Trainings deeply rooted in mutual support, respect, non-judgment and compassion. Again, staying true to the Yogic pathway, we create a welcoming and inclusive environment as a foundation from which you can thrive. Groups are intimate which allows for individual attention, where you can fine tune your practice and teaching but also feel heard and seen.

Vinyasa, Yin & Yoga Nidra

The sacred balance of the Yin and the Yang, polar energies that weave together to create perfect harmony. Together, we explore elemental free-flowing, liberating Vinyasa Flow and the still, more inward practices of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.

Learn how to create and lead intelligently sequenced, soulful creative Vinyasa, Yin and Yoga Nidra classes, enriched with nurturing verbal and hands-on-assists.

What does Elemental mean?

There are 5 elemental Vinyasa sequences and 6 elemental Yin sequences that are the backbone of this Yoga Teacher Training. Each element embodies unique qualities of nature, each of which nourishes us in a unique way. From grounding Earth (hip opening) practices to fluid, intuitive Water flows (spinal awakening), to heart-opening Air (back-bending), igniting, twisty, core awakening Fire and finally, expansive space practices. All of these elements not only connect us deeper to the cyclical patterns of nature around us but like the Chakras, they all come together to create inner harmony. As practitioners and teachers, these elements offer a range of different tools and energies to play everyday as we intuitively draw deeper into what we and our students need.

As energy workers, we have a responsibility to look after our energy so that we can best serve our students from a grounded, authentic and inspirational place. On this course, we will explore not only the basics of subtle energy from the Vedic perspective but also through Chinese Medicine. But we also learn techniques and pathways that support us in managing our daily energy through protecting, cleansing and boundaries.

Key aspects

Interactive YTT

This means that using the course material, you can self practice the sequences and study philosophy at home beforehand so that when we are together, let’s say for morning practice, you already have a good understanding of the Yoga sequence therefore we can enjoy going deeper into the experience together. In terms of Philosophy, this self study and self reflection means that when we come together, we can discuss all that we have learnt on our Yogic journey so far.

Online Channel

You will be given access to the pre-recorded Yoga sequences for each module so that you can practise and learn them before we are even together. Once you learn the foundation of these sequences and the theory, we can then illuminate the pathway forward that taps into your own individual creativity, and allows you to step into your own unique power as a practitioner and teacher.

There will be an online self-study pre-requiste that refreshes the basics of the elements and a self study guide that ensures you have fully integrated the basics from your 200hr YTT before we are together.

Inclusive Yoga

Morning Vinyasa practices can be strong and empowering however there is always a nurturing tone of listening and feeling. We all show up to practice everyday in different places, having had very different life experiences. We all have unique bodies, our bones are shaped in unique ways, we hold tension in different places, our physical bodies are exposed to different ways of life. And on top of this, everyday our mental, emotional states and energetic pathways are in constant fluctuation. Therefore, even in an experienced class, we still hold space for inclusivity with classes full of different variations and expressions of each posture, to empower your students into choosing the right pathway for them on that day so that all of your students can feel that Yoga is for them and for everyone.

However for a class to be truly inclusive, welcoming and empowering, we need more than just variations. Our language and our actions as a teacher sets the tone of the experience.

Nature

Weather permitting, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, we will venture into local nature to practice teach, learn hands-on-assists and enjoy discussions on the direct earth or by the river. This supports us in managing our energy and in embodying  elemental Yoga.

In-depth Manuals

Each module comes with a high quality supportive manual and printed sequences. You will receive manuals for each module, these are created in such a way that, not only support your learning at home but also serve as ‘Yoga bibles’ that you can reference for years to come. Please allow at least 2 weeks for postage from Sri Lanka.

What People Have Said

“Finding a yoga teacher who truly resonates with you is rare, but from the very first day, Sasha reminded me why I embarked on this journey in the first place.

Her teaching style transcends the physical aspects of yoga, offering a transformative experience that touches both mind and spirit. Sasha teaches how to create a supportive space for groups while thoughtfully adapting to each individual’s unique needs on a physical, mental, and emotional level. Her commitment to each student’s growth created a supportive environment where everyone felt seen and valued.

I could share countless lessons I’ve learned, but I’ll simply encourage you to experience it for yourself. This course is a remarkable opportunity, whether you aspire to become a qualified yoga instructor or simply want to deepen your practice - it’s genuinely worth it.”

— Tiana Vierk

“Sasha's YTT was an authentic, challenging yet massively rewarding experience. Sasha helped me deepen my practise through spiritually rich yoga, breathing and honouring myself. These tools I can keep forever to help me navigate life's ups and downs and going forward I am excited to share this knowledge and practise with others in the future.

An important part of Shanti Yoga Teacher training is that yoga is for everyone no matter shape, size or range of mobility. As well as the importance of teaching your class with physical and emotional safety through language and demonstration.

The YTT came with many rewards including sisterhood, deepening self trust and self confidence. I would highly recommend to anyone if you feel drawn to this beautiful experience.”
